Weekend with Mommy

Donnie went turkey hunting with his dad and uncle this weekend, so it was just me and the little man. We filled the weekend with school carnivals, 1st birthday parties, and brunches. We were very surburban :)

Rhett's daycare had a carnival on Saturday morning, so my parents watched Rhett while I volunteered at the carnival. I got to run the cake walk, which was always my favorite game at my school carnivals. There's something about walking in a circle to music that is so appealing to kids. They weren't able to set up the bounce house because of the rain, so all of the games were inside, but it was nice to meet some of the other parents.

Here's a pic of my dad feeding Rhett while I was at the carnival. He was really good for them, thankfully.

After time at Grammy and Grandaddy's house, Rhett and I headed back to our house to nap and get ready for Leo's 1st birthday party (which was really fun, by the way). Here's a picture of Rhett clutching his Sophie on the way home. He loves her so much...

Sunday morning, Rhett decided that he wanted to eat at 6am, so after his bottle, I strapped him into his bouncer next to the bed and crawled back into bed myself. When I woke up at 8:30, here's what I saw. Can you tell this kid is a belly sleeper?

After we got ready, Rhett and I met my good friend Emily for brunch at Einsteins Bros. Bagels. She was in town for a shower, and it was SOOO good to see her. We're really hoping she and her husband Terry will be moving back to Dallas soon.

When Donnie got home from his hunting trip, Rhett was asleep so he went and took a nap himself. When Rhett got up from his nap, he started smiling and kicking his feet as soon as he saw Donnie, who was asleep in the living room. It was so cute!

Sunday evening, we went to dinner with our friends the Kendricks at this yummy burger place in Frisco. You could order shakes with all kinds of crazy stuff-Twinkies, Zingers, chocolate frosting, Sno balls. I was unoriginal and got the Oreo, which was excellent, but Donnie got the Twinkie shake and was very impressed.

The Kendricks' son Reid is almost exactly one year older than Rhett. I just had to take pictures of them together, because they are quite a pair...
Rhett yanking on Reid:

Reid playing peek-a-boo with Donnie. I guess Rhett thought that was hysterical:

Rhett bouncing on Chris' lap:

And the sweetest picture of Reid and Chris:
We had a busy weekend, but it was so good to catch up with our friends. I hope you all have a great week!
