I won't lie. I was nervous about riding 7 hours with an active toddler, but he was a dream. It didn't hurt that we had enough snacks, books, and toys to last for a 15 hour trip. :)
Working on his laptop...

Playing with his toes, which he really never does. I blame it on the fact that his buddha belly gets in the way:)

And he got them to his mouth!

My parents are professional travelers, so they had a great rest stop picked out where we could have homemade chicken salad sandwiches and Rhett could run around. He loved the place!

And ready to get this show back on the road!

My Aunt Libby was sweet enough to let us stay with her. Rhett adored her house because there are a ton of stairs to climb and new places to explore.
Hanging out in the kitchen...

Watching the action from my dad's lap...

Friday afternoon, we trekked to an arena in Mississippi to watch Jessie graduate. She is super involved with her school and actually got two awards for everything she has done there.
Jessie's graduating class...

The proud graduate herself...

My Aunt Libby throws great parties, so of course we had a big party at her house to celebrate the event. She had it catered by a local BBQ joint and she invited tons of family friends that we've met over the years. It was a lot of fun!
Rhett and his cousin Parker wrestling. Parker loved it :)

Parker and my cousin Megan's husband Jon. Parker is a HUGE fan of Jon, if you can't tell by his face :)

Me and my date...

My sweet cousins, Megan and Jessie...

My brother Chris and his family weren't able to attend, so here's a picture of the remaining Conway-Bassham cousins...

Memphis has an incredible zoo that has been privatized, so every exhibit is sponsored by a company or a generous couple. The result is amazing exhibits that feature white tigers, pandas, etc. so even though we went to the zoo just a few weeks ago, this was a completely different experience.
Megan and Parker at the zoo entrance...

Rhett and I inside the zoo. It was HOT that day!

Rhett watching the hippos...

My sister-in-law Jenn was a godsend because of course Rhett didn't want to stay in his stroller, but I didn't have Donnie there to push the empty stroller with the diaper bag/purse AND corral Rhett. Jenn helped me keep Rhett on course and I was grateful!

Watching the pumas with Jenn...

Back in his stroller watching the monkeys. He loved imitating their sounds while he scratched his armpits...

Watching the giraffes with Parker...

Walking with cousin Parker and Uncle Larry...

We had a wonderful time and I was so grateful to our family for their help with Rhett. He was so happy to see his Daddy when we got home, and I know the feeling was mutual. Here's a pic of them reading "5 Little Monkeys" together, which he got from his Pop and Mamaw for Christmas. Rhett really enjoys this book. If you can't tell, he's at the part where you say, "No more monkeys jumping on the bed" :)
