Susan G. Komen North Texas Race for the Cure®

Today, Larry, Jenn, Rhett and I participated in the Susan G. Komen North Texas Race for the Cure. Larry and Jenn do this race every year, but I wanted to run this year to honor my Aunt Maggie, who battled breast cancer this past year. She was so positive through the entire process, and I truly admire her courage and grace.

Larry and Jenn picked up Rhett and I at 6:30 in the morning. My parents were going to watch their kids Parker and Jordan, so we piled all of the kids into Larry's car to make the trip over there. If you can't tell, it's a little early for Jordan and Rhett. Parker's in a great mood :)

We met several of my work friends at the race, and we walked the 5K while Larry and Jenn ran (and they put down some impressive times, if I can brag about them for a minute!).

Here's a few pics of my friend Zoe's son, Leo and Rhett. I promise we didn't make Rhett wear that mohawk. His hair just started sticking up that way, and we couldn't make it lay down!

A pic of me and my partner...

Here's a pic of part of our group. Nicole Neal is the one of the left and Nicole Coburn is wearing the hat in the middle. They kept us laughing the entire 5K. The little girl wearing the long shirt is Nicole Denning's daughter. She rode in the wagon wearing a princess crown and feather boa to celebrate Nicole's mom, who is currently battling breast cancer.

The starting line. They estimated that 14,000 people participated!

A dog wearing a pink tutu. It was quite a sight...

The Conway/Bassham kids at the finish line...
Rhett was such a trooper for the whole race. He slept for about 30 minutes and played with his toys the rest of the time. Here's a picture of him after the race...

My work friends at the finish line. We had such a good time!

Rhett and Uncle Larry.

After the race, we picked up Larry and Jenn's kids and headed home. Here's a shot of the littlest cousins after a long morning.

And here's a pic of what is most important:

I like the picture of Rhett eating the stroller :) All that walking made him hungry!
