He:
- is officially walking, although he prefers to run. He took his first step at 10 months and now he's a professional walker
- is able to communicate with us, whether it's knocking our hand away when we try to give him a bottle after he's full, or waving his hands a certain way when he's done eating in his high chair.
- is a sleeping champ. During the week, he averages 12 hours/night and on the weekends, it's closer to 13. We are not complaining.
- is a big hit at his new daycare. Every day, they marvel at how easygoing he is and what a happy baby he is. We've gotten several offers to babysit, which I think is the true indication of what a sweet kid he is. I don't think they would offer if he was awful :)
- will eat anything and everything you put in front of him. He's always been like this, but I think he's eating even more now that he walks. His favorite food is mac and cheese. He will eat this with both hands so he can shovel more in.
- is starting to wean himself off of bottles and we've started giving him whole milk. I won't miss the cost of formula!
- loves our dog, Jasmine. He follows her around the apartment and lays on her when he's tired
- still hates sitting in his carseat. I have to entice him with puffs so he'll sit down and let me strap him in. We're up to a 3 cans of puffs/week habit :)
Here are some pictures of the birthday boy. In my family, my Mom always made us pancakes on our birthday. That was my goal, but we ended up with toast. Oh well, maybe next year :)
Here's Rhett playing before school...
He was unhappy with Jasmine in this next picture. She walked away before he could grab her tail. Mean Jasmine! :)
Here are some pictures I took at school. Look at them staring at their teacher! You can tell she's been doing this for years :)
And here's the birthday boy in his bat hat. Each child colored their own bat hat and apparently, they took a class picture together. I can't wait to see that hot mess :)
Happy birthday, sweetheart!
