He was WAY too excited to get a good picture. Here are some of the outtakes :)
Donnie took Rhett in for his 9-month appointment on Thursday. Here are his stats:
22lbs. 6oz-90th percentile
29.5" tall-90th-95th percentile
His head is 18.3" around-90th percentile
The doctor was very pleased with everything and was amazed that he's already pulling up on things, which is a good indication of gross motor skills. He told Donnie that at this rate, Rhett will probably end up being 6'2" or 6'3" and 200lbs. He said Rhett looks happy and healthy and gets an A+ for all of his progress.
Donnie has never had the pleasure of watching Rhett get shots, and luckily, he only had to get one (the 3rd Hepatitis B) at this visit. He said Rhett didn't cry for about 10 seconds after the shot. He just sat there with his lip stuck out, and then the yelling began. He said Rhett sounded more mad than hurt. Luckily, Donnie had half of a bottle left, which calmed Rhett right down. And since this shot doesn't cause reactions, we didn't have to worry about a fever or rash afterwards.
Things Rhett can do now:
- Pull up on anything and everything, including his crib. We probably need to lower his crib again!
- He says "dada", "mama" and "hi" while waving. That one only happened once, but I'm counting it! :)
- He has started eating Stage 3 foods and will slowly start table foods this month. He likes apple chunks, bananas, and any flavor of puffs. We think he has a puff addiction :)
- He thinks he can walk, but he can't yet. This means he walks along the coffee table until it ends, and then he keeps walking. This has caused a few rounds of tears, but he'll get there!
- He's an extremely happy and easygoing baby. Donnie has the summers off since he's a coach, so Rhett has been home with him all summer. Donnie has drug him all around town on errands and lunch dates, and Rhett has been happy with whatever the gameplan is.
- These days, he sleeps about 10.5 hours-11.5 hours a night, although he's going through a growth spurt now and HAD to eat at 5:30 this morning. Now that I know it's temporary and I won't be feeding him in the middle of the night until he's 16 (which is how it sometimes felt), I enjoy our late night/early morning cuddles. Especially since a 5:30 bottle means he'll sleep until 9:00, so I can go back to bed :)
Here are a few pictures I took today of Rhett with his new toy. Gran and Grandpa gave him a Lighting McQueen walker when we were in East Texas last weekend, and he loves it! Here are a few pics...and you get to enjoy a picture of my toes as well, while I hold the toy still :)
"Oh, here comes Jasmine!"

It was so great to see Rhett in Florida this year. I can't believe how quickly he is growing. We miss you!
I swear he looks like the happiest kid I have ever seen. He has a huge smile in every picture you take ;) Maybe he will walk at 10 months like Elliott!
